Divorce Lawyers

Divorce decides how property is divided, where children live, and what support looks like — decisions that last for years. Even when both sides agree, having the terms reviewed protects against surprises later. When they do not agree, experienced counsel keeps the process moving and the focus on the outcome. The attorneys below handle divorce and separation matters.

Common questions

How long does a divorce take?

Uncontested divorces can finish in weeks or a few months; contested ones often take many months or longer. Local court backlogs matter too.

How is property divided?

Most states divide marital property equitably (fairly, not always equally); a few split it 50/50. Separate property you owned before marriage is usually protected if kept separate.

Do we have to go to court?

Not necessarily. Many divorces settle through negotiation or mediation. Court is the fallback when agreement is not possible.

What should I bring to a consultation?

Bring financial documents — income, debts, property, retirement accounts — plus any existing court orders and a list of your goals for custody and support.
